Hello, three mentors showed up in my life after 40 years of self-guided methods of meditation, self-guided studies of the esoteric and had the self-realization: I had become that which I was seeking. It had always been me.
I AM THAT
All three mentors have a lineage of teachers.
The third apprenticeship was with an Native American Apache Indian I met in Durango, Colorado. His lineage of teachers were: first was his Toltec grandfather, a World Weaponry Champion from Argentina, Shinto Monk from Japan, Renshi 5th Karate from Germany and a Tibetan Yogi Master.
“You are an anomaly; you don’t act like you’re suppose to in the every day world”, he said to me. Upon seeing this anomaly, he was instructed by his Toltec grandfather to offer to teach that person what his teachers had taught him.

This anomaly is an energetic configuration in terms of the capacity to be responsible. A capacity to perceive energy directly as it flows in the Universe, a feature of the double. The same description first told to me by my grandmother, my first spiritual teacher. My grandmother taught me, “God’s gifts are free. We make our living a another way”. The mentors who took interest in my well-being did not charge money for their time or knowledge.
“I am going to teach you how to leave the world behind,” Mystic Bob said immediately after I accepted his offer to teach me what his teachers taught him. This began a five year apprenticeship. The basic tenets are: waking up daily with a purpose, entering daily life with an intent, having integrity, being of service, and Letting go of self-importance.
“The three mentors I’ve met began the same way with a light conversation like any other when you first talk to a stranger. In time, they share about themselves, their background, their education, how they over came challenges and their lineage of teachers.
Mystic Bob obtained a masters in social work, (MSW), an Olympic Coach; then with the Special Olympics, coaching a deaf wrestler by tapping vibrations on the floor. He said he died four times in Viet Nam and he was never to walk again. His Toltec grandfather said to him, “get up and walk or spend the rest of your life not walking”.
Each mentor conducted an interview after the second encounter. Questions are deliberate, methodical and extensive.
I called him Mystic Bob because his knowledge and teaching was not of the norm I had studied during my forty plus years of the Eastern meditative path. He called me, Counselor. First, he inquired about my education. He had a list of books asking if I had read them. I had read them all except “The Way of the Wizard”, by Deepak Chopra.
He asked questions to determine how I assimilate information and my general well-being. My emotional intelligence was challenged to identify reactions to stressors, discipline and ego. Then he invited to teach me what his teachers taught him. He gave me 24 hours to think it over.
The hook, line and sink: his grandfather describe to him the same description of my energy told to me by my grandmother, the double.
